Real World Weather – Local Weather & Time of Day

Combat ready

Bring the weather outside into your battles. Real World Weather uses conditions at your selected real-world location to choose the battlefield’s weather and lighting.

  • Rain and snowfall, cloudy and overcast skies, fog, and darker storm conditions.
  • Location-based daylight and night battles, with sun position, colour and brightness prepared between battles.
  • Wet-looking vehicles during rain.
  • Real-world wind enabled by default, with a separate setting in Aslain’s Mod Menu.
  • Town and coordinate inputs, or approximate IP location when those fields are blank.
  • A weather-status panel in Aslain’s Mod Menu showing the resolved location, cloud cover, precipitation, wind and observation time.

Open Aslain’s Mod Menu and select Real World Weather. Complete coordinates take priority over town. For an ambiguous town name, include the country. Leave town and coordinates blank to use approximate IP location.

Each battle uses one fixed weather snapshot. Lighting, sky, rain or snow, and wind stay on those conditions for the entire battle. Weather is checked between battles; location and settings changes apply to the next battle. Replay viewing uses current conditions, rather than the weather at the time the replay was recorded.

Daylight follows sunrise and sunset at the selected location, including earlier winter sunsets. The sun’s path is adapted to each map; this is a visual approximation rather than an astronomical simulation.

The download stays small by preparing local resources from your installed game files. On first launch, battle entry is temporarily blocked during preparation, and the game restarts automatically once setup and garage loading finish. Later launches reuse the cache.

These are local visual effects; other players keep their own weather. Rain and snow require the improved graphics renderer. Snow does not accumulate or replace the map’s ground textures. Hail and freezing rain are represented by rain. Storm lighting and rain are supported; lightning is experimental and thunder audio is not included.

The wind setting disables weather-driven wind; enhanced tree sway remains while the mod’s generated vegetation resources are installed. IP location is approximate, so use a town or coordinates if it selects the wrong area. If fresh weather data is unavailable when a battle starts, that battle keeps its normal map weather.

Use without Actual Rain or other map-lighting replacements.
