HD Minimaps replaces the flat, low-resolution background of the in-game minimap with a high-definition top-down render of each map.
Every image is rendered in 3D from the game’s own map data: terrain, ground textures, vegetation, buildings and water, seen straight from above. You see the real streets, houses, rocks, fields, rivers and shorelines instead of dark blobs and blurry colors, so it is much easier to read the map and judge where cover and open ground really are.
Features
– 68 maps covered (including map variants)
– 2048 x 2048 textures for every covered map. Most original minimaps are 512 x 512; a few special-mode maps (Grand Battle, Steel Hunter) already use 1024 x 1024 or 1536 x 1536
– Same map bounds as the original minimap: icons, grid, spotting and arty markers stay exactly where they should be
– Background image only: no script, no change to the minimap behavior
– Maps that are not covered keep their original minimap
Good to know
– The original minimap draws diagonal hatching over buildings and impassable areas. HD Minimaps shows these areas as they actually look in the game (roofs, cliffs, rocks) instead.
– Event-specific minimap overlays (special modes with their own objectives image) are not replaced.
Compatibility
– World of Tanks 2.4.1.1
– Standalone .wotmod package, no dependency
– Not compatible with other mods that replace the minimap background images
Uninstalling
Delete the com.charlyecho.minimap_hd_<version>.wotmod file from your mods folder and restart the game: the original minimaps come back.
