RenoDX – HDR – Bloom – Color Grade for World of Tanks

Combat ready

A mod using RenoDX that rewrites multiple shaders to allow control over bloom and color grading, as well as unclamping the output from SDR to real HDR. It uses the ReShade Add-on API to hook into the game, NOT RESHADE EFFECTS.

General:

3 customizable presets with an “Off” preset for comparisons.

  • Realtime sliders
  • Shader based color grade tools, allows adjustment of the game’s final image without affecting the UI.
  • Bloom intensity slider.

Tone Mapper:

  • Vanilla+ (HDR) Tonemapper – Preserves the game’s original look with proper tone scaling and hue preservation.
  • Peak Brightness Slider – Defines peak HDR brightness in nits, should be adjusted according to your display.
  • Game Brightness Slider – Sets the value of 100% white in nits. This is the game’s SDR brightness value, or “paper-white” value. Defaults to 203 nits.
  • UI Brightness Slider – Sets the peak brightness of all UI elements in nits. Defaults to 203 nits.

Scene Grading:

  • Scene Grading – Adjusts scene grading as applied by the game.
  • Saturation Correction – Corrects unbalanced saturation from per-channel grading.

Color Grading:

  • Exposure
  • Highlights
  • Shadows
  • Contrast
  • Saturation
  • Highlight Saturation
  • Blowout – Controls highlight desaturation due to overexposure.
  • Flare – Flare/Glare compensation.

Effects:

  • Bloom Slider – Allows adjustment of the bloom intensity.

Notes – IMPORTANT

Due to the way the game draws to the swapchain, some post process effects currently do not work with this mod. These include antialiasing when set to high, the dynamic resolution setting, the sharpen filter when antialiasing is set to max, sniper optic effects and in-game color filters. These shaders have been disabled in the mod to avoid graphical issues that would make the game unplayable, but I would suggest loading into training or topography mode just to make sure there are no issues before going into a real match.

About RenoDX

RenoDX, short for “Renovation Engine for DirectX Games”, is a toolset to mod games. Currently it can replace shaders, inject buffers, add overlays, and write user settings to disks. Because RenoDX uses Reshade’s add-on system, compatibility is expected to be pretty wide. Using Reshade simplifies all the hooks necessary to tap into DirectX without worrying about patching version-specific exe files. The source code is available on GitHub.
